Hay que estar vivos, porque por un problema de ancho de banda, los subire de a poco y no estaran mas de tres dias en el aire. Si, para quienes decian que estabamos flaqueando en la categoria de hardcore internacional he aqui Anti Cimex, formados en 1981 en Gotenburgo lanzaron durante la decada de los 80's un disco brutal tras otro y dieron forma a las escenas deathmetal y crust de a principios de los 90's. Este es su segundo siete pulgadas que data del año 1982. 5 temas con calidad de sonido acorde a la epoca, si...cuesta un poco digerirlo a la primera pero una vez con el acetato en el estomago es dificil poder volver a vomitarlo. Bueh, los dejo con el disco...mas adelante mas leyenda sobre la banda.

He visto todas las noches en NBC el recuento sobre las Olimpiadas de Invierno en Turin, y despues de terminar varias botellas de rootbeer y manzanas verdes me puse a pensar en que si conocia a alguna banda de esa ciudad y me pegue en la cabeza cuando me vi en el espejo con la polera puesta de quizas una de las agrupaciones mas representativas de la escena thrash europea de los años 80's y decidi poner su primer siete pulgadas completo hoy para que lo puedan escuchar. Anteriormente tenian editado un split con Declino pero este es su primer trabajo digamos oficial y preguntenle a Scholastic Deth de donde robaron algunos de sus riffs.

Bold - The Search 1985 -1989

Quizas estoy comentando muchos discos de Revelation Records, pero estoy contento de que hayan reeditado un trabajo completo de una verdadera banda clasica del hardcore. Hoy es el turno de Bold. La banda que puso la palabra "youth" en el youth crew, tocando su primer show cuando todos los integrantes andaban por ahi en los 13 años de edad. Originalmente, eran llamados Crippled Youth y sacaron un ep llamado Join The Fight bajo ese nombre. El cual esta inspirado quizas en demasia por SSD y Youth Of Today, lo cual se nota en la voz que siempre me recuerda a Springa/Cappo pero durante la pubertad. Aunque las letras eran lo que se podia esperar para la edad que tenian, la musica es mas que competente.
Despues viene su primer lanzamiento como Bold, el larga duracion Speak Out. El cual no es tan rapido como el anterior pero tambien mas desarollado musicalmente y las obvias influencias del comienzo se ven mantenidas al minimo. En las notas que vienen con el disco explican de como grabaron el disco y que la gente del estudio no tenia idea de como grabar a una banda de hardcore. Se nota, lamentablemente. Hace años, la primera vez que escuche el Speak Out fue precisamente la produccion lo que me impedia terminar de disfrutar del disco. La bateria tiene un monton de eco y para que estar con cosas porque suena re mal. Pero con mal sonido y todo canciones como "Wise Up", "Clear" y "Nailed To The X" terminaron convirtiendose en clasicos que gozan de ese sabor atemporal que chicos de la escena de 10 años en el futuro seguiran cantando. Si no fuera por esos detalles en el sonido, quizas Speak Out hubiera sido EL disco youth crew. Quizas para muchos ya lo es. Tenia gran musica con letras que iban a la par, pero no pudieron sentarse en el Olimpo.

Ahora bien, ni yo mismo lo creo pero es probable que su ultimo disco sea el que lleve a Bold a ser la leyenda que son hoy. Editado originalmente como un 7'' con cuatro canciones y vuelto a sacar con tres temas extra como un ep en 12'' llamado Looking Back. Con un miembro nuevo en la segunda guitarra, Tom Capone de Beyond, despues de varias escuchas podria convertirse en mi disco Bold favorito y echar por la borda mis gustos adolescentes. La musica es mas tecnica y mas melodica y las voces y letras tienen mas fuerza. Supongo tambien me estoy volviendo viejo junto a mis discos. El sonido esta junto a bandas de la epoca como Verbal Assault y Turning Point. Con cada lanzamiento Bold se reinventaron casi drasticamente y puedo ver como sucedio. Pongamos a cualquier banda a sacar tres discos entre la basica y la media y veamos que pasa. Los de Revelation se pueden pegar una palmada en la espalda con este, dieron en el clavo con este.

La obra maestra, la cancion definitiva.
Se trata solamente de mi llamando 7 veces seguidas a una chica hasta que ella dice....por favor dejate de llamar!...tenia mi copia de Milo Goes To College en cassette y la unica manera de pasar la verguenza era escuchar 7 veces seguidas esta cancion. Demas esta decir que..."Mis amigos, Los Descendientes..." son la mejor banda que alguna vez haya pisado la faz de la tierra.

Bueh...he ahi el tema y la letra....nos vemos mañana.
